Did you know that the Flagstaff Blues and Brews is the largest blues festival in Arizona?

Did you know that the Flagstaff Blues and Brews is the largest blues festival in Arizona? It takes a lot of work to achieve that title and after 8 years of this festival being around, it’s not only the largest, but also it’s the best. This year the festival starts at 2:00 pm on Friday June 9th and runs until 9 pm. Then it starts up again at 11:00 am on Saturday June 10th and is over at 8 pm. It’s one of the best music festivals of the year and you will not want to miss it.

Many up-and-coming blues artists have graced their festival stage over the years which has turned into a great launching point for the careers of many of them. Some of those blues artists include Karen Lovely, MonkeyJunk, Harlis Sweetwater and Jeremy Bar-Illan.  There are sure to be more of those hidden gems in this year’s lineup. Speaking of the lineup…

The headliner for Saturday night is Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, multi-instrumental sisters Larkin Poe. Creating their own brand of Roots Rock 'n' Roll: gritty, soulful, and flavored by their southern heritage, they are self-producers of an electrifying, critically acclaimed body of work. They are known for touring with a fiery vitality and entertaining audiences across the globe.

Over the course of her career as an award-winning artist, singer/songwriter/guitarist Samantha Fish has brought extraordinary power to her self-expression, capturing her inner world in combustible riffs, visceral rhythms, and spine-tingling vocal work.

Friday’s lineup includes killer blues musicians like The Aaron McCall Band, Buffalo Nichols, Albert Cummings and Samantha Fish who closes out Friday night.

Saturday’s lineup includes JC and The Juke Rockers, Levi Platero, King Solomon Hicks, Southern Avenue, Kenny Neal and for the finale, Larkin Poe.

For the full Friday and Saturday schedules, be sure to visit flagstaffblues.com. And to buy your tickets. One and two-day General Admission passes, along with VIP tickets are on sale now. We will sell out this year. Music fans of all ages are so excited to get back out there and enjoy music festivals again. Put this one of your list!

If you’re planning a visit to Northern Arizona, checking out this festival will also put you at one of the top 10 most beautiful blues festivals in the US too. What a great way to experience the beauty of Flagstaff, a stellar view of the San Francisco Peaks, all while surrounded by the tall ponderosa pines this region is known for. Make it a whole weekend and enjoy the sunshine, the warm breezes and the music as the best backdrop. Oh, and bonus, the festival donates a portion of their proceeds to the local public school district to help support music and arts programs across their district. They’ll be auctioning off a guitar signed by all the musicians too so don’t miss that.

And of course, it is a blues AND brews festival so there will be great beers being served up all weekend long including local and regional microbrews and national beer brands. But there’s something for everyone, so if you don’t like beer, there will be great options for wine and hard cider.  Every year there’s a great selection of local and regional food and craft vendors, children’s activities and fun activities and games like giant connect four, jenga and cornhole.

There’s something for everyone at this festival. So put the Flagstaff Blues and Brews Festival on your calendar today. Visit flagstaffblues.com for more information, details and to buy your tickets before it sells out. See you there!
