Join Das Nohs Club for an evening of original and inspiring original compositions!
The Interference Series is excited to present this spring’s version of Das Nohs Club, the ensemble comprised of students from co-curator Rob Wallace’s NAU Honors College course Performance in Practice: Improvisation, Music, Performance Art. The course is an undergraduate ensemble dedicated to improvisation, experimental musics, and intermedia/multimedia performances. It is open to all majors and all skill levels (even “non-musicians” or “non-artists”). Students learn and perform a wide variety of music and other performance traditions including improvisation, performance art, and other elements typically overlooked in mainstream Western artistic practice. This course is officially funded by a generous donation from R. Carlos Nakai and Pamela Hyde-Nakai, who believe in the transformative power of the arts and music. An NAU alum, R. Carlos is the world’s premier performer of the Native American flute, selling more than 4 million albums and earning eleven GRAMMY nominations. You can learn more about R. Carlos and his passion for music and performance on his website.
